Talofa

[edit source]

Talofa Joseph. I am at the beginning stage of understanding the use of Wikipedia. I am fluent in both Samoan and English. I was very pleased to find the Gagana Samoa page. I have also added in 'comments' under Translating from Samoan to English a paragraph in each language to begin this discussion. Could you make this into an article, fa'amolemole.

I've done this one but I really would like to focus on other issues and other subjects that would enhance the language of the Samoan community around the world.

Talofa, Jose77. You seem to be doing good work here. It has come quite a distance since I created the 2004 article, which I (sadly) see has been deleted. Maybe you can look at how it was before it was vandalised. A modern encyclopedia can hardly do without a page for such a recent year.

Kind regards from Wellington - Robin Patterson 00:34, 9 Ianuari 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you - fa'afetai Jose77. I am pleased we have at least agreed to be the 'guides' or the administrators at this point. I have a lot to add in a number of areas, but I'll just do what I can as i have time. Great to build this wiki. I have also noted that a Maori brother / sister ? of New Zealand is also interested. Im glad about this.

HI Jose77. How are you? I've done a few more articles and building on others. Your assistance (in tidying up the Wiki Samoa is greatly appreciated. Missed your comments in the lst day or two.

Tutuila

[edit source]

The title Tutuila is spelt incorrectly . Can you change it to what it is here please?

The title Manu'a is spelt like this Jose77, not as it is in the article section. Could you change it please. I'll learn how to do these edits as soon as i get a chance.

Please change the title of the translation article to Fa'aliliuga, and not fa'amolemole. It was my fault for not making it clear to you.

It is a real pleasure to be working in this collaborative way with you. I am enjoying the opportunity to be part of this. Glad to have someone like you to work with. God bless.I'll continue to read and learn also all about the 'culture' of wikipedia as I journey along. --Fatugalelei 21.33 12 January, 2007 (UTC)

Glad to be sysop. Meaning of this term please Jose?

I will try to translate as i find time. Help-I tried to shift Ā'oga 'Āmata subtitle in Iūlau Muamua under Gagana title, but it ended up wrong.(Fatugalelei 03:25, 14 Ianuari 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Hi Jose, I have entered under a new name as you have suggested -fatufatu- and would like you to know that. I shall try to be a little more regular as I have a little time.(Fatugalelei)Fatufatu 19:29, 8 Iuni 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Its good to be back and I see you have been working steadily . In Samoan, that deserves a big " mālō " (mar -law ....well done, congratulations etc).

Dear Jose77: Please believe me when I say I forgot my new pin number!! So sorry about this but I hope you will understand -it's me Fatugalelei now becoming FatugafiafiaFatugafiafia 09:23, 12 Iuni 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fijian MediaWiki messages imported into Betawiki

[edit source]

Hi Jose77. I see that you have contributed to the messages in the namespace MediaWiki. Thank you for that. As Fijian did not yet have any generic messages in MediaWiki (only on this wiki), we imported the messages from Special:Allmessages into betawiki:. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages for 116 extensions, with about 1,600 messages. I would like to invite you to join the Betawiki community and help improve MediaWiki localisation for the languages you are able to contribute to.

If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talk page on Betawiki. We will try and assist you as much as possible. You can also find us on the Freenode IRC network in the channel #mediawiki-i18n where we would be happy to help you get started.

Thank you very much for your attention and I do hope to see you on Betawiki soon! Cheers! Siebrand@Betawiki 16:09, 15 Tiseba 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I will join when I have time. (Unfortunately I will be more busy next year, so I will probably be less active on Wikipedia than before.)--Jose77 06:47, 20 Tesema 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Talofa Jose! I've been absolutely busy so sorry I've not been active. Would like to focus a bit more in the next few months. I want to build up Samoan texts for school students to use in classroom work, or just to learn Samoan. How are you?Fatuoleola 08:35, 19 Tesema 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Talofa again Jose. Can you please advise how i can create a new Topic heading called Myths and Legends/Tala o le Vavau? I decided to start one up. ThanksFatuoleola 09:13, 20 Tesema 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you had tagged the Perception page for deletion. It should be deleted. Good job.

A little help: Ecser

[edit source]

Hi! I'm a Hungarian Wikipedia editor, my name is Norbert Kiss. I'm very proud of my village and I would like to read about it in a lot of langauges. I translated already it into 10 languages (now it is in 42 languages), but I can't speak Samoan. Could you help me? My village's English page is this: Ecser. Could you translate the page of Ecser into Samoan? Then just link the side into the English version and I will see it, or you could write me, when it is ready. My Hungarian Wikipedia side is: My profile.

Thank you! Norbert

Talofa lava Jose,

Thank you for the acknowledgement. I happen to come by by chance. I am a professional interpreter/translator for the Samoan language here in the Bay Area and the whole state of Ca. and also a Bible teacher.

Time allowing I could help where I can. My html skills are limited and therefore am not able to do much but if you want me to help I'll be more than willing.
